Google has added a new notification to your Google for Education account
feature in which it sends you an email whenever it recognizes your account
is accessed in a new way. This could be from a new device, computer,
browser, when you grant access to a third-party app or from an unrecognized
location.

Why is this important?

For your security, it is important that you review each of these alerts
when you receive them to be sure your account is being accessed in any
unauthorized ways. If you think your account has been compromised, follow
these instructions to secure your account.

Additional Security:

If your email has been compromised, it’s possible a hacker will delete
these alerts before you see them, so, for added security, you can have
Google send you mobile alerts for new sign-in’s to your account. Find out
how. <https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/183723?hl=en&rd=1>

Below is an example of what the email notification from Google looks like.

If you have questions or require assistance, you may contact the CIS
Service desk at servicedesk at vassar.edu or 437-7224 (x7224 from a campus
phone) during normal business hours.

Thank You,
