[ExtendedVassarCommunity] Questions about Spring Convocation

Dear members of the Vassar Community:

A number of questions have been raised about Spring Convocation.  As was
decided last fall, we are returning to a model of having only one
convocation per year.  Attendance at the spring event has been very low,
and it was deemed best to keep the fall event as our single convocation.
While it was removed from the College's main events calendar, I have
learned that Spring Convocation, May 3, persisted on other calendar tools
in use on campus, and I apologize for the confusion that this might have
caused.

Spring convocation was also a time for other Vassar traditions, such as the
ringing of the bell by the rising senior class (current juniors).  You will
note that the following events are scheduled for next week:

*Junior Class Picnic on the Library Lawn*
Wednesday May 11 2:00pm

*Junior Class Bell Ringing Main Building bell tower*
Wednesday May 11 and Thursday May 12, 3:30pm-8:00pm
