The piece follows Walter Baade, a German astronomer working in the States
during the Second World War. Its multilayered imagery and narrative touch on
issues of patriotism, dual identity, and human judgment. Baade¹s scientific
advancements serve as both background and metaphor in this creative work of
non-fiction.
