Dear Science Faculty,

Hello! I am the new Sciences Librarian, and I just wanted to take this
opportunity to introduce myself.

I recently graduated with a Master's of Library and Information Science
from the University of Illinois where I also worked in the Engineering
Library. Prior to that I earned a MS in medical physics from the
University of Texas, and I did my undergraduate work in physics and
mathematics. In between all that studying, I had the opportunity to live
and teach English in Japan for three years.

My passion is the information that underlies and enables scientific
research. That is why I am so excited to be at Vassar College and to be a
part of the research and the education of the next generation of
researchers.

I would love a chance to talk with each of you about your research and
teaching interests, and learn about the work being done.

Please contact me at any time for aid in finding or accessing resources for
research or teaching, and feel free to direct students to me as well. I
welcome the opportunity to visit classes whether to briefly introduce
myself to the students, or to talk to students about library resources, the
research process, or any topic where you see students needing instruction.
A great option would be to discuss how we can collaborate to tailor a
research instruction session for a specific course or assignment.

I look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,
Rachelle Ramer
