Hey, all you beautiful people:

MEETING.
TOMORROW (FRIDAY) at 5 pm, Rocky 312.

Lots of exciting stuff on the agenda, including, most importantly, a SCREENWRITING session, led by a good man, Jon Miller, one of our two Filmmakers Vice Presidents. This promises to be fun (and useful).

Also, Molly Turpin, editor-in-chief of the Misc will be here to talk about getting YOUR FILMS on the Misc website and seen by a wider audience. Exposure is always a good thing. (Except when it's the hypothermia-related kind, or the public-nudity-related kind.)

ALSO also, the Vassar Filmmakers (and the 12-Hour Film Fest) were just featured in the Misc today! If you haven't read the article, do so, show your friends, it's cool (and the writer gives a humorous account of a film from last year's fest):

If any of you are interested, after the Fest, we can put one of the 12-Hour Film Fest projects on the Misc website! This is exactly what Molly is talkin' about, this whole collaboration-online-content-thing.

Speaking of which. AN IMPORTANT REMINDER for those of you who participated in the 12-Hour: please bring your finished and exported files to the meeting. Below is a note from Tim about how to do so, in the best and most efficient way:

"So here's a good page to send to everybody for exporting stuff:

http://www.vimeo.com/help/compression

That's what I always use. Make sure to note the resolution - 853 x 480
if they shot widescreen, 640 x 480 - and to check "de-interlace" in the
"Size" menu. Otherwise, vimeo is the beacon of truth in terms of good
conversion. Go for .movs using the settings that they recommend and then
bring the exported file on a harddrive (or a computer - I'll bring a
harddrive to copy stuff over if need be) to the meeting at 5. Yem! If
they have any problems, call me up at 609-610-6055. We'll get you sorted
right out.

Hoorah!
Tim"

So there you have it.

See you soon, so soon,
grace
