Hey Everyone,

I'm planing on starting to email minutes from our meeting so you can 
stay involved even if you can't make the Wednesday meetings.

We have a lot of really great stuff going on, particularly the 
preregistration luncheon, look it over and please contact us if have 
any ideas or want to be more involved!

WISM-Meeting Minutes 2.28.07

•	Collected signatures from members for VSA recognition - We need 20 
signatures before we can be recognized.
•	We continued planning our Luncheon scheduled for Tuesday April 3rd 
from 11:30-2:30, College Center MPR (right next to express lunch) 
Topic: Insiders advice before preregistration.
-We need majors from each department to be available to talk informally 
about the ins and outs of the department; info about specific classes, 
workload, the major, professors and advisors.  This would be an easy 
way to be a resource to younger students!  Contact Olivia 
(olgillham at vassar.edu) to sign up.
-Food: Catered sandwiches, drinks and Kosher-for-Passover options.

•	We hope to bring some kind of Alumni panel next fall. We discussed 
possible topics and decided that it would be most useful and 
interesting to have any number of successful alumni come to talk about 
their experiences after Vassar: picking a direction/career and what it 
took to get where they are  - next step: use CDO resources to contact 
potential speakers. Interested in helping out, any ideas of fields you

•	We have decided to invite a Speaker for this semester. Valerie Kay, 
Managing Director of Global Capital Markets for Morgan Stanley, is a 
former Vassar rugby player, and worked her way up in the competitive 
world of Investment Banking. She has facilitated the integration of 
Morgan Stanley in Latin American markets.  Although plans are not 
definiate, we hope to have Valerie speak sometime after break.  As 
always, if you have any idea for potential speakers, please let us

•	Community Outreach Opportunity - Be part of a WISM table at the Girl 
Scouts of Dutchess County 95th Anniversary Celebration at the Rhinebeck 
Fairgrounds, May 19th from 10-6.  Contact Allison (aledgren at vassar.edu)
