*FWWWWAAAAA!!!*

Happy Spring! I hope your hills are alive with the sound of music.


I’m emailing you all today because this year’s almost over! (ahhhhh!) So
that means we need a new FWA board! (yayyy!) And we want *YOU *to file for
board! (trust us, it’s super fun).

If you are passionate about musical theater on campus and are interested in
filing, please fill out the form here <https://forms.gle/GEP8tK8Z3F3NGRbY7>
before *Friday, May 7th at 11:59 pm* (we will likely be voting the week
after that). Here are the positions you can file for and the
preferred/required prerequisites for each position:

PRESIDENT:

The President is responsible for creating the agenda for weekly FWA Board
meetings; is the primary liaison to any student life; is the liaison to the
directors of FWA’s full-length productions for the semester.

Eligibility: Must have at least two semesters of FWA Board experience and
have held a significant role on the production team and/or been in the cast
of at least one student theater production (Required)

VICE PRESIDENT:

The Vice President is primarily responsible for the coordination of special
events, as well as maintaining social media accounts. They are also
responsible for creating the agenda and leading any FWA board meetings that
the President is absent for. In the event that a role on the board is not
filled by election, the Vice President will take on the responsibilities of
that position.

Eligibility: Must have held a significant role on the production team
and/or been in the cast of at least one student theater production
(Preferred)

SECRETARY:

The Secretary is responsible for communicating with the general body via
e-mail; is responsible for taking minutes and adhering to the agenda during
FWA Board meetings; promptly sending said minutes out to members of FWA
Board; is responsible for maintaining the FWA general body email list; is
responsible for circulation of information regarding FWA’s productions and
endeavors

Eligibility: None!

TREASURER:

The Treasurer is responsible for securing/purchasing the rights for
full-length productions; is responsible for managing the budget of the
organization as well as overseeing the purchases made by each specific
production; is the primary liaison to the VSA; must manage the purchasing
card and submit all expense reports to the current VP of Finance; will
present a finance report at the last executive board meeting of the month
detailing money spent during that month and any fund applications submitted
and ratified by the VSA Finance Committee.

Eligibility: Preferably has (1) been a member of FWA board for at least 2
semesters OR (2) held a managerial role on at least one student theatre
production OR (3) held a treasurer position on any campus organization
(e.g. student organization executive board, House Team, Vassar Student
Association, Music, Dance, or Drama Department). (At least one is preferred)

BUILDINGS & SPACES MANAGER:

The Buildings and Spaces Manager is responsible for securing the spaces on
campus for all FWA endeavors through Vassar’s reservation system; is the
liaison to the Student Activities Resource Center (SARC) and Campus
Activities; accompany and oversee the production teams’ meetings with
campus activities: is the liaison to Buildings & Grounds; will work with
Campus Activities and individual shows to support shows being produced in
alternative spaces. They will always serve as one of the liasons to a show.

Eligibility: Has held a role on a production team and/or been in the cast
of at least one student theater production (Preferred)

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR:

The Technical Director is responsible for maintaining a list of all the
technical equipment belonging to FWA; is the liaison to the designers of
all FWA full-length productions and special events; is the liaison between
FWA, VCATT, and other student theatre organizations regarding technical
equipment; is responsible for providing access to the FWA storage closet to
students needing to borrow props, costumes, and / or technical equipment
from FWA.

Eligibility: Has been on the production team of at least one theatre
production (either student theatre or the Drama Department) (Preferred)

ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR:

The Assistant Technical Director is a position perfect for students
interested in getting involved with the technical side of theater but who
currently lack the experience for the role. Through this position, the
Assistant Technical Director will both learn how to manage technical
equipment and coordinate with VCATT and other orgs alongside the Technical
Director.

(Note: This role is not about learning to design or operate specific
aspects of technical theater, but rather about learning how to facilitate
the technical aspects of FWA productions and understand the Vassar student
technical theater landscape.)

Eligibility: None!

MUSIC DIRECTOR:

The Music Director is responsible for supporting all musical elements of
FWA full-lengths and special events; is the liaison to the vocal and music
directors of each FWA production; is a resource in sourcing instruments,
musicians, and musical equipment for FWA productions.

Eligibility: Has experience creating music at Vassar (either in the
department or student) (Required); Has experience in an instrumental
ensemble and/or experience music directing/conducting in any musical
organization(Preferred)

*And that’s all!* Keep in mind that most eligibility requirements are
PREFERRED and not required: the most important thing is that we want folks
who are passionate about bringing musical theater to the Vassar community!
