Hi Y'all!
Wow, our email list is (hopefully) back up and running! We've had a lot of
technical issues with it this year, so if you know anyone who was
accidentally removed please tell them to contact me (or anyone else on the
board) and we will add them back! We sincerely apologize if that happened
to anyone and it was definitely unintentional. Also, we have made some
changes to election protocol and position definitions, *PLEASE READ THIS
ENTIRE EMAIL IF YOU WANT TO RUN FOR FWA BOARD!* We'd love to have you.

if anyone has any questions.
Guess what, friends? FWA Board elections are upon us! Get ~excited~ ๐ฑ๐ฃ ๐ค
If you'd like to run for a position, please fill out this google form! (
https://forms.gle/zjueLqWvskEyRhjP9 ) with a candidate statement, *due
Sunday (4/28) at midnight. *Elections will be shortly after.
You may select multiple positions to file for, however you may only run for
one. The way this will work is that if your first choice is contested, I'll
contact you about potentially running for an uncontested position (if there
is one) that you also selected, if you prefer that.
Here are the positions available:
*๐* *PRESIDENT: *
The president is responsible for creating the agenda for weekly FWA
Executive Board meetings, which shall be sent to the Secretary prior to the
weekly meeting; is the primary liaison to any student life
Eligibility: Must have at least two semesters of FWA Executive Board
experience and have held a significant role on the production team and/or
been in the cast of at least two FWA full-length productions.
๐ VICE PRESIDENT:
The Vice President is primarily responsible for advising the Freshman Rep
in the coordination of special events, as well as maintaining social media
accounts. In the event that a role on the board is not filled by election,
the Vice President will take on the responsibilities of that position.
Eligibility: Must have held a significant role on the production team
and/or been in the cast of at least one FWA full-length production
๐ SECRETARY:
The secretary is responsible for communicating with the General Body via
e-mail; is responsible for taking minutes and adhering to the agenda during
Executive Board meetings; promptly sending said minutes out to members of
the Executive Board; is responsible for maintaining the FWA General Body
email list; is responsible for circulation of information regarding FWAโs
productions and endeavors
Eligibility: No eligibility requirements.
๐ค TREASURER:
The treasurer is responsible for securing the rights for the productions;
is responsible for managing the budget of the organization as well as
overseeing the purchases made by each specific production; is the primary
liaison to the VSA; must manage the purchasing card and submit all expense
reports to the current VP of Finance; will present a finance report at the
last executive board meeting of the month detailing money spent during that
month and any fund applications submitted and ratified by the VSA Finance
Committee.
Eligibility: Must have held a managerial role on at least one student
theatre production and/or held a treasurer position on any campus
organization (e.g. student organization executive board, House Team, Vassar
Student Association, Music, Dance, or Drama Department).
๐ BUILDINGS & SPACES MANAGER:
The Buildings and Spaces Manager is responsible for securing the spaces on
campus for all FWA endeavors through any reservation system made available
to them by Vassar College and Vassar Student Association; is the liaison to
the Student Activities Resource Center (SARC) and Campus Activities;
accompany and oversee the production teamsโ meetings with campus
activities: is the liaison to Buildings & Grounds; will work with Campus
Activities and individual shows to support shows being produced in
alternative spaces and helping them come up with a checklist so the space
is respected; will check in during tech week to ensure this and do a
walkthrough at the end of strike. They will always serve as one of the
liaisons to a show.
Eligibility: Must have student theater experience (ideally in a production
team capacity).
๐จ TECHNICAL DIRECTOR:
The Technical Director is responsible for maintaining a list of all the
technical equipment belonging to FWA; is the liaison to the designers of
all full-length productions and special events; is the liaison between FWA,
tech conglomerate, and other student theatre organizations regarding
technical equipment.
Eligibility: Must have been on the production team of at least two theatre
productions, either student theatre or the Drama Department.
๐ถ MUSIC DIRECTOR:
The Music Director is responsible for supporting all musical elements of
FWA full-lengths and special events; is the liaison to the vocal and music
directors of each FWA show; is a resource in sourcing instruments,
musicians, and musical equipment
Eligibility: Must have music or vocal directed at least one FWA show and/or
held a leadership position in a music-oriented organization (e.g., a
capella, student music ensemble, Music Department).

~ALSO!~
We are adding a position in the *fall *called *Properties Manager*, who will
be responsible for providing access to the FWA storage closet to students
needing to borrow props, costumes, and / or technical equipment from FWA.
The props manager will also offer support to the tech director and act as
an aid for FWA showsโ props designers.
Unfortunately, we could not amend our constitution in time to add this
position formally (as per the VSA rules) so the election will occur in the
fall.
