Hi everyone,
First of all, if you're new to the club, you can ignore most of the
contents of this message. All you need to know is that if you decide to
join permanently there is a $10 annual fee in addition to a $10 fee for
each belt test. This money goes to the national association to support the
sport and it gives you among other things worldwide recognition of your
rank.
    Now, for the rest of you: Thanks to all of you who have already paid
your membership dues. Those of you who have forgotten, please pay as
soon as possible. Again, you can pay cash or by check; you can bring
it to practice or drop it in my mailbox #3703.
   Unfortunately, we don't have any records of who paid for what belt
tests last semester. Most of you paid, but since we didn't have a good
system for you, some of you forgot.  We're going to have to rely on the
honor system for past belt tests. If you're a nice and honorable
person, and I think we all are, and you didn't pay for your belt tests
last semester, you won't let others pay for you. We have been nice and
easy-going about this in the past, but I, however, plan to be extremely
anal about this from now on. Therefore, the exec board and Sean have
decided on a policy that's simple and fair: If you haven't paid your
membership dues and your previous belt test fees, you will not be able
to take your next belt test.
